It’s 2025, it’s London, and John Constantine might be a bit older, but he’s still the same wise-cracking, chain-smoking bastard we all know and love. At 72 years old he’s still got his schemes and plans, but this time, he’s serving as an agent for his friend, Dolly, an aspiring actress. As it turns out, the Royalists in the British Monarchy also have plans for her, and a new role they want her to play: last heir to the British Throne. However, the Royalists don’t really need her to seize the power she can bring them. And they certainly don’t need her alive.

Written by Jamie Delano, this comedy-drama mini-series gives a good glimpse of what an older but still young in spirit John Constantine might be like. From DC’s Vertigo imprint.
