Havok & Wolverine: Meltdown

    (Epic, 1989)

It was the twilight of the Soviet Union. Glasnost was tearing down walls in society, changing down the old ways. But some in power were not so eager for change. Instead they would do whatever was necessary to halt glasnost.

Their first attempt was in 1986. Then, in a carefully arranged series of “accidents,” they managed to cause a meltdown in the nuclear facility at Chernobyl. And although the destruction caused a slowdown in the reforms, it did not stop them. The powers would have to try again…

And so when X-Men members Wolverine and Havok were vacationing in Mexico, they were “recruited” by Soviet agents. By using them, they would cause another meltdown—one that would change the course of history.
