The Dark Ages presents a new chapter in Todd McFarlane’s popular Spawn series, this time set in medieval times.

In a graveyard, a half-human devil appears filled with pain and hunger. Haunted by faint memories of a beautiful woman and the blood of legions upon his sword, he is drawn to a deserted castle. He is now Spawn, Hell’s own Black Knight, but in the past he was just a man named Lord Iain Covenant.

Visions of the Hell that Spawn escaped flood his mind, but what were the sins of his past that condemned him there? And why was he returned to Earth to wreak vengeance on the unholy?

Like the modern Spawn, this series is about one man’s search for redemption in a world of violence. But in the Dark Ages, that world is filled with battlefields, kings, and villainous knights.
