The Incredible Hulk Megazine

    (Marvel, 1996)
™ and ©1996 Marvel Characters, Inc.

Intended as a one-shot, this giant “megazine” collects representative stories from the major “periods” in the Incredible Hulk’s history. Along the way, it demonstrates how this “big dumb behemoth” has undergone tremendous character development over the years.

The special starts out in the modern age with the story “Quality of Life,” taken from the critically acclaimed Peter David/Todd McFarlane work on the series. Next up is the psychological piece, “Heaven is a Small Place,” scripted by Roy Thomas. Stan Lee and Gil Kane combine their talents in the two-part story which brought us the origin of Hulk foe the Abomination. The next story, “Feeding Billy,” showed how well the Hulk works in a horror setting. This is followed by the 1970s classic, “People in Glass Houses Shouldn’t Hurt Hulks,” drawing on the popularity of the series. Finally the Megazine concludes with the short Stan Lee/Jack Kirby Hulk origin from Incredible Hulk #3.
