The Magic Key
(BBC, 2000-Present)
™ and © 2004 HIT Entertainment PLC
This title is a puzzle and activity magazine intended for elementary or pre–school children. It contains search and find games as well as reading and printing exercises. Other items are photos, artwork and poems sent in by the young readers. The book is a companion to The Magic Key television series and features characters from The Oxford Reading Tree, a literacy program used in British elementary schools.
The central characters are a group of children and their dog, Floppy. Hanging from Floppy’s collar is a Magic Key. When the key glows they are transported to far away locales and time periods of the past. They are thrust into a mystery that requires observation and reading to solve. When the adventure is over the Magic Key glows and they return home.
