Sushi

The Japanese call it hentai—tawdry fantasy or science-fiction comics meant for an adult audience. Sushi is a prime example of this genre, although in this case, it comes to you courtesy of Michigan-based Shunga Comix.

The often-unclad title character works at an observatory one hundred miles south of Tokyo. The observatory’s mission: to contact alien life. And contact them they do, for an alien spaceship has had the observatory itself under observation. Now, an alien prince has become fascinated with Sushi and arranges to have her kidnapped. What happens later is perhaps best left to the imagination.

In addition to its sexy title character, this series also featured the first appearance of Teo Jonelli’s “Betty in Bondage” starring famous pinup girl Betty Page.
