This comic is another of the twelve one-shot spinoffs that arose from the merging of the Marvel and DC universes in Marvel Versus DC/DC Versus Marvel #3. Each title was published under a new “Amalgam” imprint and combined characteristics of both Marvel and DC characters.

Legends of the Dark Claw combines DC’s famous crusader/detective Batman with Marvel’s clawed mutant Wolverine. The result is a reclusive artist named Logan who has become Gotham City’s resident super-hero protector. His parents were Gothamites who were murdered when he was a boy, after which he was sent to Canada to live with an uncle. When Logan was grown, he joined Royal Canadian Air Force Security. There, he took part in a top secret project to create a “perfect weapon.” With his adamantium claws, he was the project’s “failure.” Its “success” was the Creed, a.k.a. the Hyena, a psychotic killer and Claw’s greatest enemy.
