Emergency! (Magazine)
(Charlton, 1976)
™ and © Charlton Publications, Inc.
Jack Webb of Dragnet fame created this series based on the adventures of the Los Angeles Fire Department, focusing mainly on the paramedic team. The show featured Webb’s ex-wife, singer Julie London and her new husband Bobby Troup. However, it was paramedic John Gage (portrayed by then-hunk Randolph Mantooth) that garnered the most attention. The show originally appeared as a TV-movie in 1972 and then spawned this series that ran from 1972-1977 and a Saturday morning animated series from 1973-1976 called Emergency +4. In comics there was a standard comic book series as well as this black and white magazine format comic.
