Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har

    (Gold Key, 1963)
™ and © Western Publishing Company, Inc.

One of the lesser-known entries from the classic Hanna-Barbera period of 1957-1967, Lippy is a con-artist lion that palled up with a non-laughing hyena named Hardy. They had adventures of the scheming type that compare to Tennessee Tuxedo, but without the educational material. This was originally a segment on a 1962 syndicated series called The New Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Series, which also featured segments with Wally Gator and Touche Turtle. While those other characters only made it to the back pages of various Gold Key comics, Lippy achieved one-shot status with this title.
