Hero Alliance Quarterly

    (Innovation, 1991-1992)
™ and ©1991 Kevin Juaire and David Campiti

This anthology spotlights individual characters from Hero Alliance, a book that aims for a sophisticated approach to the super-hero genre, focusing on their lives outside of the big battles.

Stories have included the tale of a prostitute-junkie-turned-super-hero who fights the state for custody of her child. There was also a touching, ghostly encounter a super-hero experiences at his high school reunion. Another story showed a super-hero empath who discovers a decidedly unheroic empath during a vacation. While the visuals still have the look of soft porn, stories in the quarterly shed their soap-opera tinge and have a tighter focus.

Contributors have included Robert Ingersoll, Stuart Immonen, and J.H. Williams.
