Syphons

Four years ago, they were just a bunch of teenage orphans, running away from an orphanage they didn’t like. Then they saw the strange alien ship out in the woods and went to investigate it. Before they knew it, they were covered in a strange light which seemed to fill them with energy even as it knocked them out. When they awoke, they were no longer just a bunch of teenage orphans.

A government branch discovered both the teens and the spaceship, and took them both in for study. They found that the teens had absorbed some great source of energy which they could channel into a variety of amazing powers. Called Syphons (after their ability to channel this energy), they were trained as crimefighters But these teens were unprepared for the real battle that lay ahead. As it turned out, the alien ship had not there by accident: it was sent to build a defense against the other aliens that had followed it!
