Emily Play was a member of the local coven of witches in a small town. Although these particular witches practiced their benign magic privately, it didn’t stop some of the locals from blaming them for crop failures, dead livestock and other ills. Finally, two of the locals took it upon themselves to “show those witches a lesson.” They murdered Emily.

But as seems so often the case where witches are concerned, death was not the end of things for Emily. A spell brought her back from the dead, mixing her soul and body with those of other restless spirits. Now able to walk the earth again, she was out to take care of some unfinished business with the locals. But in doing so, she learned a powerful lesson about the value of life.
