This wonderful limited series from Jim Krueger and Michael Avon Oeming takes place in a dystopian future overrun by technological tyrants. All the old heroes are dead. Hope has been crushed by the mechanical “beetles” that patrol the streets of the unnamed city in the unnamed country in which the story is set…that is, until a mysterious hooded man encourages three kids—Story, Rags, and Johnny—to rob the heroes’ graves, take their footgear, and become new heroes to the beleaguered citizenry. With that, the Second Story Kid, the Man of the Cloth, and Johnny Stomp burst onto the scene, inspiring faith in a promising future and turning the tide of oppression. As an added bonus, Foot Soldiers also sports cover and pinup artwork by the likes of Alex Ross, Mike Mignola, Paul Chadwick, and Mike Allred.
