Originating as a movie series, by the time of this comic book, Flipper had made its debut on the small screen as a weekly TV series starring Brian Kelly as Porter Ricks, Chief Ranger of Coral Key Park. His two sons, and Ulla the biochemist also came along for the ride. But the real star of this 1964-1967 series was Flipper the dolphin who was the seagoing equivalent of Lassie, barking out rescue calls for people in danger at sea.
