This 1988 mini-series revitalized Silver Age favorites Hawk and Dove. The team consisted of brothers Hank and Don Hall, filling the roles of Hawk and Dove, respectively. When last seen, Don had been killed while trying to save innocents from a collapsing building. Hank blamed himself for not protecting his brother, and to cope, he became an even more aggressive and overbearing blowhard. He still had the ability to assume the super-hero role of Hawk, but with his brother gone, he usually wound up diving into more trouble than he could handle.

Just when Hawk was about to be gunned down by a squad of thugs, a beautiful woman named Dawn showed up to save him, clad in the costume of Dove. Apparently chosen for the role by the same unseen force that appointed the original Hawk and Dove, Dawn supplies a needed element of strategy to Hank’s brawling style of crimefighting.
