Mutants vs. Ultras: First Encounters

    (Malibu, 1995)
™ and ©1995 Malibu Comics Entertainment, Inc. and Marvel Characters, Inc.

This 80-page one shot reprints three stories featuring the first meetings of various characters from the Marvel Universe and Malibu Comics’ Ultraverse line: Prime vs. the Incredible Hulk, Night Man vs. Wolverine, and Exiles vs. The X-Men. These stories, originally available only through special mail-in offers, were created by Marvel to bring attention to the Ultraverse characters acquired through the purchase of Malibu Comics.

In all three stories, the title characters first meet under misunderstood circumstances, fight amongst each other, then eventually come together to face a common foe. In Prime vs. the Incredible Hulk, the villain is a scientist experimenting on children with gamma radiation. In Night Man vs. Wolverine, the heroic duo unite to escape one of Arcade’s Murderworlds. And finally, in Exiles vs. The X-Men, the two teams are forced to drive back an otherworldly entity that feeds off the energy of the Exiles.
