Storm made her first appearance along with the rest of the new X-Men in Giant Sized X-Men (1st Series) #1. She has the mutant ability to control the weather and can conjure rain, snow, wind, tornadoes, and lightning at will. For many years, she had been the X-Men’s leader, but in this four-issue limited series, Storm begins to question her ability to make the tough decisions. In a previous adventure she had been forced to kill a little girl who had been transformed into a Morlock terrorist, in order to save the lives of others. The series deals with her struggle as she searches for inner strength and the conviction required to continue as the X-Men’s leader. And in pursuing these goals she would find herself drawn into another, even greater challenge.

This series was written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Terry Dodson.
