Akiko on the Planet Smoo

Akiko, a fourth grade girl, traveled to the planet Smoo at the request of Smoo’s leader, King Froptoppit. Back on Earth, a robot duplicate of Akiko remained to take her school tests. King Froptoppit charged Akiko with the task of finding his lost son. Akiko and four others, whom the king sent with her, set off to find the Prince. Along the way, the five travelers came across an old hermit who reluctantly agreed to help. The Prince’s searchers had many marvelous adventures along the way. In one, they found themselves in a space ship chase, riding gigantic bull-like creatures called Fubas, and talking to living castles. In the end, the King explained that he was actually testing Akiko to see if she was worthy to marry the Prince. Akiko politely declined the proposal, feeling that she was too young.
