Alex Furlong is the best racecar driver around, and since he’s a cocky bastard, he doesn’t mind saying it. Perhaps it’s his skills, or his attitude, that make him so intriguing to a secret group of individuals operating almost 20 years in the future. Regardless, one minute Furlong is in a horrific car accident in 1991, and the next he’s been plucked out of his burning car and is running for his life in 2009. Trapped in a completely different world, known as a “freejack,” he finds himself the target of some who want him dead, while others are too fearful to help him. Meanwhile, he’s wondering if his girlfriend still remembers him.
Based on a moderately successful science fiction movie starring Emilio Estevez, this mini-series is written by Chuck Dixon and Clint McElroy, drawn by Ernie Stiner and Tony DeZuniga. Published by Now Comics.
