Duel Masters Pocket Edition
(Dreamwave, 2004)
™ and © 2004 Wizards of the Coast, Inc. and © 2003 Hasbro
Adapted from Wizards of the Coast’s card game, Duel Masters is an anime–inspired fantasy with a youthful protagonist, Shobu, who is a Duel Master tournament champion. The boy has the ability to enter the “Zone,” another dimension wherein mystical creatures battle. Meanwhile, his missing father, Shori, tries to get back home. Reminiscent of Dragon Ball and Yu-Gi-Oh!, Duel Masters is an American manga published in color instead of the usual black and white in Japan. It is geared towards younger readers, featuring an abundance of action and colorful monsters that’ll hold their attention. Characters and even cards themselves from the game are incorporated into the storyline.
