Canadian Rock Special

This black-and-white special from Revolutionary Comics chronicles the—unauthorized—story of Canadian rockers Rush. The artwork is a bit simplistic, but the story is the stuff of “VH1: Legends” or “Behind the Music.” It begins with early attempts by Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart to form a band, as well as the impact of Led Zeppelin’s first album on their sound. Rush gained some recognition opening for such established acts as Blue Oyster Cult and Nazareth and appearing on “In Concert” and “Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert.” Of course, the band hit their zenith in the late 1970s and the early 1980s, but they have continued to produce music that gets air-time.
