That Chemical Reflex
(CFD, 1994)
™ and ©1994 Mike Kennedy. Artwork ©1994 Dan Brereton
Jim Disney got high on acid, and immediately broke all three of his friend Annie’s Cardinal Rules of Acid. He took it by himself, he wandered out into the streets, and he made a major jerk of himself. Ultimately, he got a little thirsty, so he punched a hole through a Coke machine to get himself something to drink. It was then, nursing a Sprite in one hand, and wondering when the other would stop bleeding, that the man approached him and asked him if he’d like to kill a girl for money…
Less a comic book than an illustrated text story, That Chemical Reflex is a nightmarish ride through a world of bad acid, snuff films, and cheap motels. It was written by Mike Kennedy and illustrated by veteran Cry for Dawn artist Dan Brereton.
