Thrilling Adventure Stories

    (Seaboard, 1975)
™ and ©1975 Seaboard Periodicals, Inc.

Stories of a World War II prison camp, the noble Lawrence of Arabia, survivors of a plane crash stranded in the African jungle and the indomitable spirit of a caveman are among the eclectic mix of tales in this black and white magazine from Atlas Comics. Stalwart artists such as Frank Throne, Ernie Colon and the always-impressive Russ Heath, supplied work to this title.

In the mid 1970s, long before the independent movement spawned alternate comics companies, Marvel and DC were the primary sources for adventure and super-hero comics. The upstart Atlas Comics attempted to carve a niche of its own, but could not gain a foothold in the market. Most of its titles like Tigerman, which is previewed in this magazine, lasted only three issues.
