In New England, every quaint little town is haunted to some degree. Just ask the locals. Of course, usually it’s just history and good PR, to attract the tourists. But the seemingly sleepy little coastal town of Midnight really is haunted. In fact, it’s probably the most haunted place anywhere. But whether that’s why, or because, Adam and Julia Kadmon, the world’s premier paranormal investigators, make Midnight their home is yet to be decided.

Adam and Julia are just the latest couple in a family business that stretches back several generations. But things are different these days. There’s a new generation of monsters out there, not content to lurk in the shadows, on the edge of human awareness. Increasingly, Adam and Julia find themselves functioning less as investigators, and more and more as a supernatural border patrol, protecting an unsuspecting world from the horrors waiting to engulf it.
