In ancient Egypt, two slaves caught the eye of the evil Nepthys. The demoness feasted on human flesh, and abused Drayven and Kryla for many months before she decided to offer them a special “gift.” Unaware of the consequences, she forced the young couple to partake of her own blood even as she feasted on theirs. Amazingly, they did not die, but were reborn as immortal beings, forced to drink blood to survive. And so the legend begins…

Centuries later, Drayven still seeks a cure for his evil condition. And he continues his search for Kryla, who was stolen away by Nepthys at the moment of their transformation. His journeys have led to many other strange beings over the years. His best friend, for instance, is a man who is reincarnated every 77 years. Drayven is loved by a fallen angel of heaven, hounded by demons, and holds captive a girl whose vibrant spirit alone can sate a vampire’s hunger.
