The case could be made that the charms of this romance series are almost extinguished by the sheer weight of the genre conventions piled upon the poor characters, each individual plotline being enough to sustain a series of its own.

Student Kei (A) has an invented illness that freezes his biological processes so he’s not as mature as his classmates (though you couldn’t tell by looking at him), while hot new teacher Mizuho (B) is also a space alien. The (C) is a series of merry mix-ups too ridiculous to reveal here but which forces student and teacher to marry, while keeping said marriage secret from his classmates.

The warm, kind Mizuho (an adolescent older-woman fantasy figure, if ever there was one) clearly is greenlighting consummation, but the immature Kei keeps it on a junior high “does she like like me” level when not thinking of her as a supportive maternal figure. Naturally, just as this dynamic is about to shift, a pesky kid sister shows up, who’s like Skuld from Oh My Goddess, except she cries “Rape!” and actually wants Kei dead. The art’s really pretty, though.
