Triumph is a four-issue mini-series that premiered in June of 1995. The series was written by Christopher Priest (The Ray) and illustrated by Mike Miller.

When Triumph was a young boy, his father was the wheel man for the evil super-villain, Doctor Cobalt—Lord of the Atom. Billy Mac, later to be known as Triumph, was moved every few weeks due to the nature of his father’s “work.” As a result, he never had a chance to make friends, and his childhood was one of loneliness.

That could be why, as Triumph, he surrounds himself with a team of assistants although someone of his power could easily work alone. In this mini-series, Triumph spots Doctor Cobalt at a funeral. Triumph sets his people to work, and so begins his quest for vengeance against the man that corrupted his father and ruined his childhood.
