The Machine

™ and ©1995 Dark Horse Comics, Inc.

In 1993, Dark Horse Comics released a series of sixteen different comics to introduce their “Comics’ Greatest World.” Among the many new characters to be introduced was the unlikely hero known as “the Machine.”

The Machine is a cyborg who used to be a man known as Avram Roman before he was experimented on and fitted with metal and computer components. Although he is terribly disfigured, he uses his power to help innocents. By plugging into a computer and television network called the Matrix, he can keep watch over the entire city of Steel Harbor. The Machine never sleeps, but loves his quiet time. Perhaps not surprisingly, he has few friends, but among them is the beautiful female bounty hunter Barb Wire.

This four-issue series continues from the Machine’s first appearance in Comics’ Greatest World: The Machine.
