The Remarkable Worlds of Phineas B. Fuddle

    (Paradox, 2000)
™ and ©2000 Boaz Yakin & Erez Yakin

This wonderful black-and-white and color limited series from DC Comics’ Paradox Press imprint finds Victorian England’s greatest—but most madcap—inventor, Phineas B. Fuddle, completing a time machine and traveling back to the great civilizations of ancient times to give them scientific knowledge. His mission is a noble one: he wants to save humanity from self-annihilation by improving the past. The problem is that his endeavors are creating alternate timelines—alternate realities, if you will—that are converging on the present—in this case, the Victorian Era—and populating the streets of London with Cro-Magnon men. So, Professors McKee and Angus are charged with the mission to track down Fuddle before his good intentions cause the universe to fold in upon itself. Another noble mission, to be sure.

Interestingly enough, this series takes a “Wizard of Oz” approach in its coloring. The Victorian Era scenes are rendered in black-and-white, while the glorious scenes of the past are in color. Fantastic!
