Tales of Evil

    (Atlas, 1975)
™ and ©1975 Atlas Comics, published by Seaboard Periodicals, Inc.

When Atlas Comics launched its independent publishing venture in the mid-seventies, it apparently decided that it should publish at least one comic in every major genre. Tales of Evil was their entry in the “angst-ridden monster” category occupied by Marvel’s Man-Thing and DC’s Swamp Thing.

Tales of Evil featured Man-Monster, an Olympic swimmer turned amphibious behemoth, as well as the soulful Bog-Beast. Alas, this title fared no better than the rest of Atlas’ line, ending abruptly with issue #3.
