Moonstone Noir: Johnny Dollar

One of the longest-running radio serials—beginning in 1949 and ending in 1962—was “Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar”. In 2003, Moonstone revived the character as a comic-book hero which remained relatively faithful to its origins. Dollar was a no-nonsense, chain-smoking insurance investigator who often left silver dollar tips to bellboys and waiters in the radio program. Though that personality quirk is absent from this nostalgic one-shot, the mystery-solving continues as Dollar investigates a supposedly cursed stage production of “Macbeth.”
