Paul Terry’s Terrytoons produced many memorable characters over the years, including Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle, all of which starred in their own comic books over the years. In 1956, Terry sold the rights to his characters and studio to CBS television. With new leadership at the helm, Terrytoons created a number of new characters made especially for TV, although a few did get into the theaters. These include Sidney the Elephant, Hashimoto-San the Mouse, and Hector Heathcote, a petite Colonial from Revolutionary War time. Heathcote’s popularity led to the launch of this book.
