Who says education has to be boring? Especially when it’s sex education, it doesn’t. And when it’s a sex education comic book, done by some of the creative giants of the underground comics world, it can be funny, disturbing, alarming, and remarkably enough, educational and helpful, too.

A typical story: Fat Freddy has the clap. Discovering his girlfriend has been cheating on him, and with the Freak Brothers, no less, he buys condoms to protect himself—but doesn’t tell his girlfriend about the disease, in hopes that her other lovers will catch it. It’s a revenge play and also a lesson: protect yourself from sexually transmitted diseases!

Other stories and short episodes deal with unwanted pregnancy (pulling out doesn’t always work!) and other sexual-related issues, in a graphic style and frankness uncommon to, of course, mainstream comics. Robert Crumb, Gary Hallgren, and more.
