Zatanna

Zatanna is a half-human, half-Atlantean sorceress and onetime lover of John Constantine (Hellblazer). Despite her special abilities, she tries to eke out a relatively normal existence in San Francisco as a booking agent. Over the last few days, however, she has noted a huge increase in the number of darkling spirits in San Francisco, and she decides to investigate. In doing so, she encounters an ancient enemy and a mystical plan that threatens to spill the darkling realm into our world.

An entertaining mini-series, “Come Together” gives the writers a chance to develop Zatanna. Aside from freeing her from the rather silly device of having to speak her spells backwards, they add dimension to her personality, turning Zatanna into a much stronger character.
