Alexander Murphy has a great life. He loves his wife, his son and his job; although being a cop in Detroit has become a very dangerous occupation. When Murphy is murdered by a violent street gang, the OCP company decides that there is enough left of his body to turn him into a cyborg law enforcer: Robocop.

Robocop 2 adapts the second Robocop film, with one of the screenwriters being comic auteur Frank Miller.

Taking place three years after the events in the first Robocop movie, our hero has become a respected part of the Detroit PD. A lethal and addictive new drug called Nuke has hit the streets and so the OCP has decided to create a bigger, badder Robocop for their bid to control the bankrupt city. This time they want a criminal mind to control the cyborg body, so they turn to Cain, the drug dealer who invented Nuke and turned the city into a war zone. Violent mayhem ensues as the battling Robocops tear their way though the city on their way to a climactic grudge match.
