Marvelous Adventures of Gus Beezer: Hulk

    (Marvel, 2003)
™ and ©2003 Marvel Characters, Inc.

Gus Beezer is a little boy who lives in the Marvel Universe, but he has no super-powers -- unless you count his overactive imagination, which is sparked by the proliferation of super-heroes in the world around him. Gus loves comic books and lives for the day when the new books arrive at his local comics shop, and he debates the strengths and weaknesses of various super-heroes with his friends. His life is completely controlled by his love of super-heroes.

In this particular one-shot, Gus wishes he had the Hulk’s strength and, um, forthright manner, but when he actually encounters the Jade-Jawed Giant, he begins to wonder if there’s more to the gamma-irradiated monster than meets the eye. Fun stuff from writer Gail Simone (Agent X, Birds of Prey) and artist Jason Lethcoe (The Birthday Boy)!
