This humorous look at the super–hero genre pokes fun at how costumed crime–fighters might actually be like if they truly existed. Polly Harris becomes Rocket Girl after discovering that the super-hero she has a crush on, the Fire Chief, is attracted to female heroes. However, becoming a super–hero isn’t easy. After her scientist uncle equips her with rocket boots and other gear, she doesn’t know how to use them, crashing into walls and encountering other mishaps. Although clearly a parody, Rocket Girl manages to be insightful in its portrayal of super–heroes: following the laws of science and dealing with everyday responsibilities.
