A city of 8 million people can sometimes seem, from the outside, to be populated by robots. Each day they walk the streets: going to work, looking for love, or just hoping to get some spare change. In this series, the denizens of New York City are robots in the literal sense, and even they aren’t sure why they do what they do. “Am I inside or out?” “What’s my place in all this?” These are the questions the robots ask themselves as they take drugs, commit petty crimes, and otherwise waste their lives. Can they change their meaningless existence… or will something happen to change it for them?

Ivan Brandon and Miles Guntner write with a certain poetry over Andy MacDonald’s grim imagery. The series also enlists talented artists like Dave Johnson to contribute cover art.
