Series continues in Horace & Dotty Dripple #25

Dotty Dripple was a domestic comedy strip from the mid-1940s, credited to “Buford Tune.” It was, to say the least, strongly inspired in both art and writing by the more famous and long-lived Blondie and Dagwood. Horace Dripple is a put-upon family man who just wants to be left alone to nap on the couch. His bubble-brained, blond wife, Dotty, always has a project in the works to disrupt his tranquil life, and, of course, his irritable boss never leaves him alone either. Then there’s the troublesome kids, teen-aged son Wilbur and young daughter L’il Taffy. Even the family dog Pepper gets into the act. By the last pages of Dotty Dripple, it’s very easy to wonder if the Blondie strips that Buford Tune traced aren’t still attached somewhere underneath.
