Fury/Agent 13
(Marvel, 1998)
™ and © 1998 Marvel Characters, Inc.
Colonel Nick Fury is dead and buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full honors benefiting a military hero of his stature. Nick Fury is as dead as the proverbial doornail. However, Sharon Carter/Agent 13 believes the world has been told a lie because “ghosts” do not die in public. Nonetheless, she has plans of her own. Agent 13 has a score to settle with the dearly departed colonel as she blames Fury for abandoning her behind enemy lines during a dangerous mission. Carter seeks her answers in Fury’s clandestine activities as the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Shadowing ghosts is routine in the world of espionage but stalking a dead hero requires certain amount of skill and talent beyond normal circumstances. Discovering the truth behind Fury’s public demise might be easier than living to complete her mission.
