Hook is Marvel’s four-issue adaptation of Steven Spielberg’s 1991 pirate film starring Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, and Julia Roberts. Spielberg updated the classic tale of Peter Pan, with Robin Williams as a corporate take-over artist who must rediscover the innocence of childhood by becoming Peter Pan and rescuing kids from the clutches of the evil pirate Captain Hook.

Marvel’s mini-series faithfully follows the script, but has understandable difficulties in capturing the subtleties of a performer like Williams. Charles Vess adapted the script, with art chores handled by an assortment of talents including Dan Panosian and John Ridgway.
