TMNT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
(Mirage, 2001-2006, 2008-2009, 2014-2015)

Peter Laird’s and Kevin Eastman’s wry satire on the state of the comics industry in the 1980s returns yet again, albeit this time without Eastman. In June of 2000 Peter Laird became the sole owner of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. However, Laird did dedicate the first issue to Eastman on the inside front cover. This series is the third to be published by Mirage Studios but the fourth volume, since Image picked up the title for its third incarnation.
Some time has passed (fifteen years according to Michelangelo) and the turtles are a little older but no worse for wear. The teenage appellation was mostly a designation of their attitude more than their age anyway. They find themselves battling a gang of street thugs calling themselves the Madhattan Maulitia while the former April O’Neil frets about her impending motherhood. Not too mention the unusual events (definitely a relative term) occurring on the moon.
