In the ’60s, your standard issue would-be world dominator (with pussycat) managed to kill Britain’s #1 super-spy and detonated nuclear missiles over Washington and Moscow, thereby creating a fantasy world in which England is again a world power.
But all that’s just an excuse to create legally non-actionable versions of such UK icons as The Thunderbirds, Lady Penelope, and Joe 90, with guest appearances by The Green Hornet and Kato and Major Matt Mason (and, inexplicably, The Baroness from G.I. Joe), so they can mix and mingle in a Watchmen-like setting.
This is illustrated fan fiction for boys who took their toys entirely too seriously, and it comes off for the most part as silly and contrived. Still, it’s nicely drawn by Ben Dunn, and, if you’re a fan of a certain age, this one will push all of your nostalgia buttons, hard.
