Cheyenne

    (Dell, 1957-1961)
™ and ©1957 Dell Publishing Co.

Cheyenne was based on a popular Western TV show during the 1950s starring Clint Walker as a cowboy hero. Cheyenne helped the cause of justice by assisting sheriffs and the Army while maintaining his own fierce independence from any organized authority. A sense of freedom and rebelliousness underlies Cheyenne to a greater extent than many more conventional Westerns.

The comic book version from Dell featured two Cheyenne stories each issue, plus a backup feature, Small Bear, about a young Indian boy. There were also one-page text stories and features.
