Shadowgear

    (Antarctic, 1999)
™ and ©1999 Locke

It’s the year 2154, and a driven scientist’s dangerous experiments with artificial intelligence technology have finally produced a success: his daughter, Adrian Nitta. Unfortunately, the “Shadowgear” chip he grafted into her brain has also made the 18-year-old hybrid girl into something more—and less—than human. Searching for answers, Adri won’t get any from her father, who has just been killed, and his lab systematically destroyed by the brutal assassin Nord.

Adri enlists the aid of her boyfriend Ren and tries to come to terms with her strange existence, battling both the mysterious voices shooting through her brain and the powerful enemies trying to silence those voices—forever.

Written and skillfully drawn by a creator known only as Locke, Shadowgear’s imagery combines vibrant, manga-influenced characters with the intense, detailed backgrounds of a high-tech future society. The Antarctic Press title is printed in black and white on glossy stock.
