Joe 90
(Fleetway Quality, 1994)
™ and ©1994 ITC Entertainment Group Ltd.
Joe 90 is a longtime favorite of British TV. Like the classic series Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 uses dolls as the main characters instead of traditional animation or live action. The mere idea that such a show could win over generations of fans sounds preposterous at first glance, but what Joe 90 lacks in motion, it more than makes up in storytelling.
This 1994 title from Britain’s Fleetway Editions brings readers new editions of the kid secret agent, some twenty-five years after the conclusion of the original comic. The star character’s father has perfected a process for directly imprinting him with the specialized knowledge and skills from other people. As a result Joe 90 is an invaluable agent for the organization W.I.N. Enemy agents never believe a mere child can stop them, but they don’t reckon on facing a child with the skills of, say, a top explosives expert or mountain climber.
