Creature from the Black Lagoon: Time’s Black Lagoon

    (DH, 2006)

Shades of H.G. Wells! Paul Di Filippo takes readers back and forth through time from the Devonian Age to 2015, all with the technological advancement of a Timepod.

Let’s step back. This is a novel about the passing of a torch, the resurrection of a burning desire to investigate exactly what The Gill Man was, where he came from, and why he disappeared from the earthly landscape. It is also about the foibles of human curiosity and our stubborn, turn-a-blind-eye focus on what we want to do.

Not only is there romance in the Devonian, there is also danger from giant sharks, discovery of colonies of seaborne life, and the possible contamination of a previously unheard-of species. Di Filippo even adds an ancient crash site, but you should read the book before anyone tells you more.
