Deadman: Dead Again

    (DC, 2001)
™ and ©2001 DC Comics

Deadman has been a second-tier character in the DC Universe since the late 1960s. He is a character with great potential that has yet to be realized. Since his premiere in Strange Adventures #205 he has appeared in a number of specials and mini-series as well as many guest shots with Batman.

This title is the latest mini-series to feature the wandering spirit and is intended to be a pilot for a new ongoing series. Writer Steve Vance realized that Deadman’s mystical presence and longevity would naturally have made him witness to the many tragic events in DC’s history. Consequently each issue of this 5-part series finds Deadman in the middle of the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Barry Allen (The Flash) and Jason Todd (Robin II); as well as Superman’s “death” at the hands of Doomsday and Hal Jordan’s sacrifice in The Final Night.
