Dorian Hawkmoon is another aspect of Michael Moorcock’s Eternal Champion character, a single hero destined to decide the fate of his world. This world is an alternate Britain whose expansionist policies are fueled by darkness and degredation, and empowered by sorcery in chivalrous times. Hawkmoon is sent to infiltrate the one European principality honorably resisting Granbretan, his loyalty seemingly insured by the implantation of a jewel on his forehead. Should betrayal be suspected, the jewel will kill him. Gerry Conway and Rafael Kayanan provide a readable outing of one of Moorcock’s lesser-known heroes
