Spine-Tingling Tales (Dr. Spektor Presents…)

    (Gold Key, 1975-1976)
Gold Key

Spine-Tingling Tales was an uneven batch of horror/fantasy/mystery stories, many purporting to be “Startling, but true!” Unlike many other such titles, Spine-Tingling Tales didn’t really cater to a single genre. Instead, a single issue might open with an unlikely werewolf story set in the Stone Age, segue to an “Unsolved Mysteries”-type feature on various “Mysterious Disappearances,” and close with a Grimm’s Ghost Stories reprint.

Like so many anthology series, Dr. Spektor Presents Spine-Tingling Tales had its good moments and its unspeakably corny ones. Its run lasted for just four issues, concluding in 1976.
